Tilden Roofing

Saw a truck from this company on I55 today getting off at 126 in Plainfield. The driver was on his phone texting and swerving all over and causing dangerous driving situations for others then cut off two lanes of traffic to get over. Horrible

Terrible roofer, awful, absolutely horrendous communication and follow through. We built a house, and the builder selected tilden roofing (probably b/c they gave the cheapest price, and as the saying goes: you get what you pay for). On the 2nd floor, one of the bedroom had a wet spots on the ceiling. Keith came out to look at it, I didn't get a straight answer as to why it might be happening, he alluded to not adequate ventilation in the roof space above that bedroom.

I got a couple of roofers to look at it, and they were suggesting the same. It turned out that there was no ridge vent installed in that area of the roof, and I'm not the least bit sure why. The rest of the roof for our house has ridge vent, but that particular area, NOT! Way to go Tilden Roofing! In any case, I told Keith I would like to have the ridge vent installed in that area.

Mind you, I'm not saying to do it for free (under warranty), I WILL PAY FOR IT- I just want the problem fixed! Every time I asked, when it could be done, they said we're busy and can't do it for at least a couple of months. I waited a couple of months, they did not follow through to schedule the work. When I call, I always get- Keith will call you back, and of course he doesn't.

The secretary then sent me a contract, which I signed promptly and sent back, a month or two would pass, and no follow through from Tilden Roofing. I have given up on them. I will the ridge vent installed by another roofer. This company is absolutely awful, I would advise anyone considering to get a roofing job done to stay away from Tilden Roofing.

I had a minor leak issue that I thought was coming from the roof. Keith Tilden showed up on time and was quickly able to identify the source of the leak, which was not from the roof, but from a flashing. His eye is incredibly trained to diagnose issues and I was able to get in touch with our siding people who fixed the flashing without delay. Thanks to Keith and the staff for an incredible experience, and most of all a quick turnaround!

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness Had Keith come out over 2 years ago for a roof repair. After I received the proposal I gave the go ahead to fix it. I tried calling for 6 months but never received a call back. Fast forward 2 years and they show up to fix my roof without a call. These guys are a joke.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness Tilden did not deliver as specified in our contract. Found out a year later when repairs needed to be made to their botched job that the shingle color we specified was not the one installed. Further, the ridge line work was bad and leaked.

The most horrendous experience. Went there to get a bid on a new project I am working on. Their estimate was 35% higher than all 4 other bids I received. I informed the owner, Keith, I will be going elsewhere as they were just priced out of the market. He then leaves me a voicemail cussing and cursing that I took my business elsewhere, and then verbatim states, "I hope your house burns down." I wish I could post the audio of the voicemail here to inform everyone to stay far far away from these rats. Absolutely horrid experience.

Tilden Roofing replaced our Cedar Shake roof on our home of 27 years. Our new Cedar Shakes are 3/4 and should be the last roof in our lifetime! The workers are very hard workers and well trained to protect flower beds and lawn ornaments. They clean up each day and properly dispose old shingles. We also feel that their pricing was very competitive for high quality workmanship. We highly recommend Tilden Roofing for your next roofing repair or replacement. Straight forward and honest to deal with too.

Five years after a total tear off roof replacement (that went very well) we had a few shingles buckle in the heat. I called Tilden (after business hours) to ask them to check it out. I did not get a return phone call, but within a day a roofer showed up, inspected the area, fixed the issue and talked to me about the roof. Amazing customer service--five years later! We highly recommend Tilden!

They have done complete tear offs and replacements on both of my current homes. I thought the service was excellent and that the finished product was great. I was also able to drive around to some addresses to see color options and they help me decide on the proper skylights for my application. Thank you to Keith and his team for doing a great job on both my roofs!

Tilden did our roof when we built our home 15 years ago. We have had many shingles come off overthe years and always called Tilden for repairs. This last time was end of May. We had shingles come off and water was dripping into our family room which is 2 story. Well, it is mid july and while we received a bid, which we accepted and after at least 5 calls, no shingle repair. My roof still leaking. No return phone calls. We have to move on.to someone else. If you want to wait indefinitely, these are your guys. Very disappointed.

Found out that Tilden did the roof over 10 years ago, prior to our purchase of the house. When the recent high winds caused some shingles to come off we called them and they were very prompt to come out and cost was very reasonable. Thanks Tilden!

After spending $37,000.00 with Tilden Roofing Inc., they do not honor their 5 year labor warranty. I still have the same leak in my roof, that prompted me to hire Tilden Roofing. Tilden Roofing will not return my phone calls or emails. I've had to hire a professional firm to fix my leak at an additional cost to me, the new firm pointed out that Tilden Roofing made no attempt to fix the obvious problem. In my opinion, Keith Tilden is a disgrace to the roofing industry.

Tilden Roofing installed a new roof on our house and did a fantastic job! They were VERY professional, clean and courteous. It was a tear off of the old roof and we couldn't believe how clean they left everything. The owner and employees were great. Would recommend them highly.

First, they bid the job by looking at an aerial view and do not actually come to the house. So 5 hours into pulling the shingles off your house they say it is going to cost $10,000 more. Then their workers throw all the debris on top of landscaping, killing many bushes, all the while complaining about their boss. Next, they reinstall the gutters improperly and will not answer emails or phone calls and actually screamed at me.

I made the unfortunate mistake of paying the entire amount before they finished the job. Very difficult people to work with with very poor communication. Not professional. One of the worst experiences i have had when it come to service people.

Keith Tilden is terrible to deal with. He makes promises and never shows up. We signed a contract in April and come this October, he still has not started our job. No call backs, no updates, no anything. If you want to work with a highly unprofessional firm then use these guys. If you want someone to lie over and over, then he's your guy. If you care about the best, use someone else.

Prompt about providing estimates, but after I signed and emailed proposal, never followed through. I emailed/called few weeks later to follow up, they said it's busy season but would get to it. Followed up again, said it was still on their list. Emailed to see if done by end of year (2013), no response. Called, left voicemail in Nov (no one seemed to answer phone anymore). Emailed one more time in Dec, and bouncedback.

Wish they would have just responded--I would have waited if they told me they would get to it even much later. But, since I relied on their assurances, I passed up other quotes and getting this project done last year, and now having to start this up again this year.

3 bad reviews after 10,000+ roofs? That's not a bad ratio. I have been using Tilden roofing for many years. They have done roofs for both my residential and commercial clients. Keith knows roofing and makes sure his team does also. I have never had a call back after they've installed a roof for me. I highly recommend Tilden if you are looking for the best quality job at a very affordable price.

I was surprised to read the other reviews of Tilden Roofing. I encountered no such trouble at all. I found them to be prompt, courteous and tidy. After having the new roof installed we had a minor issue (months later), and the matter was repaired within a few days. The cost was reasonable and the service was excellent.

Asked Tilden to come out and give us an estimate (which they did very quickly). They ended up being slightly lower than the other companies that also gave estimates so we went with Tilden. We returned the paperwork and 14 days passed with no response. I left a voice mail that was returned saying we were on the schedule in 3-4 weeks. Another 21 days goes by and called (voice mail) asking about schedule status. Got a response that we were about 3 weeks away from starting our project.

We ended going with one of the other companies we got an estimate from - they had our new roof on with a week of us calling them. As the other company was finishing the install job Tilden called us to give us an update that we were only 3 weeks away from installing our new roof. I expressed my disappointment in their abysmal follow-up and customer service to them directly.

OMG - I wish I would have read these reviews! I had the EXACT same experience. Along with the total disregard to my time - when they did show up after 5-6 weeks of my phone calls NOT being returned they did the work with my cars in the driveway. Scratched them up pretty good with the shingles. Do not hire these guys.they don't deserve our business.

The Worst, The Worst, The Worst! Great price so I hired them. 4 weeks later I never heard from them so I called. He said he'd be out tomorrow. Never showed so I called a week later and he said he's be out the next day. Never showed so I called a week later and he said he'd be out this afternoon, never showed. I told them to get their material out of my driveway, he said he'd be out tomorrow.

So here I am 7 weeks later getting estimates from other roofing companies. He would never call and cancel, reschedule, nothing. Just a big fat no show! Unreliable! Untrustworthy! A HUGE waste of my time!
