While the quality of work was great I cannot give them any better because of lack of communication. While I don't mind paying for a service getting a sticker shock of $7000 over estimate after the work is done is a shock to the system. I would recommend keeping the customer more updated throughout the work.

We experienced high wind roof damage in December right before Christmas. Sonshine Roofing came recommended so I called. The owner came out on Christmas Eve to see not only us but also several of our neighbors. We found Nathan and Jeremy to be professional and knowledgeable. Jeremy met with our field adjuster and spent an hour on our roof. They made the entire process easy. The crew was professional and efficient. We would highly recommend Sonshine Roofing. The roof looks awesome. Job well done!

We needed a roof inspection around Christmas due to a December storm that damaged our roof. They came out quickly and because more than 25 percent of the roof was affected, our insurance company allowed for replacement. The entire process was quick and efficient and I wholeheartedly recommend this company if you are in need of repair or replacement.
We also did a solar attic fan and hope it is beneficial but that was us asking them for it and not them trying to upsell. From the time of the storm to job completion, we are at 3.5 weeks. So pleasantly surprised by how great they were to do business with.

Aahh-mazing service! First impression is a lasting impression Jeremy's professionalism was great he kept us informed and help us get out of our bind we were in. Nathan also came out and spoke with us and explained options we had. The crew was exceptional they cleaned up after each day they worked. Overall great communication, top notch work, and reasonably priced! My wife and I highly recommend Sonshine Roofing!

From the initial roof inspection to the final day of completion, our experience with SonShine has been nothing short of spectacular. Nathan and Jeremy promptly provided us and our insurance company all the information we needed to make our decision to replace the entire roof. They worked with our insurance company and claims adjuster, handled all the scheduling of various other trades and kept us informed every step of the way.
The very capable, hardworking crew showed up on time everyday and had all the modern equipment and materials to complete the job properly and timely. Each day the crew stored their equipment and cleaned up the entire site prior to leaving. I'm a retired building contractor and business owner that has done business with hundreds of various contractors and have experienced some of the not so great ones.
In the five years since relocating here from Wisconsin I've unfortunately dealt with a few of the unprofessional versions but SonShine has outdone themselves and should be proud of what they offer their customers. I'm glad that I'm retired and not competing against Nathan and the crew for business!

We recently replaced our 20 yr. old tile roof. I cannot say enough about our positive experience with SonShine roofing and all their employees. We were always able to reach the company with any questions and they were always courteous and got back to us immediately. Our property was kept clean and tidy at all times.

We have a pretty substantial roof and when it came time to replace we got 3 estimates and chose SonShine for the job after talking to Jeremy and getting our quote (by the way all quotes were about the same price but the materials quoted were different). Our experience with SonShine roofing has been nothing but pleasurable. The workers were great and completed the project in only 2 days.
I was amazed. Clean up was performed each day and magnets were used around the house many times. In addition to the typical ridge venting, SonShine installed a big solar powered exhaust vent at the top of peak. I haven't seen this on any other house. Works great. I highly recommend SonShine roofing to anyone that needs roof work.

SonShine did an outstanding job. Not only is the work beyond great but the owner and his staff went above the normal in keeping in touch with us during the repair. Then they followed up with us after completion. I would whole heartedly recommend SonShine to anybody needing any roofing work. I was truly hoping to have a 5 star experience but unfortunately they didn't deliver. Being in Real Estate, I have been in contact with many many contractors and roofers over the years. First and foremost the quote was more than $10k over the competition but I was impressed with the materials and quality of presentation. I liked that the company was started by the Father who is now deceased and I have to admit the name tugged at my heart strings a bit.
During the process, the rot and wood repairs uncovered once the roof was removed were incorrectly measured, resulting in nearly $4-5k of added costs (just for wood?) and when I measured all out it was not measured correctly at the already high contracted price per linear foot. I caught this because I was paying very close attention. Most people likely wouldn't catch it.
Be very careful of the fine print (I had them include a certain number of deck boards in the original quote which they didn't do upfront) before signing. The unforeseen wood repairs can add up exponentially, especially when the contractor is arbitrarily tacking on added expenses once your roof is off. My roof looks beautiful (and it should for $50k+).
I am glad it is done but I would not use this company again or recommend them based on my personal experience. They could have saved a star if they handled the miscalculated added wood repair expense better but they didn't. They also didn't match up the fascia boards well, removed previously installed pvc trim and then charged me for it's inferior wood replacement.
For the cost of what they called necessary wood repairs, these items could have been better handled by a general handyman for 1/5 of the price and frankly were not necessary. Overall just another owner/contractor looking out for number 1 before his customer was the walk away experience for me.

Outstanding! By far one of the most professional teams I have engaged. Excellent communication through out the process including coordination with other top notch teams like Seamless Flow Gutters and Roark Solar. Entire teams are professional and do superior work. Being a big project this has been one of the smoothest running with great results. Highly recommended.

We had a 1972 roof and it was badly in need of replacing. We received 3 quotes, and SonShine was not the cheapest but when you compared the materials, you could tell why. They use top quality roof tiles and underlays. They are incredibly knowledgeable, and trustworthy. When the work was being done an old tile had broken on the way off the roof, the next day Nathan had a guy fixing the window.
We were given updates on what was happening when, and they really have their business down to a science. We have had so many people saying how great our roof looks, and we would highly recommend SonShine to anyone wanting a top-notch quality roof. A+

We just finished having our roof replaced by SonShine Roofing. This was the best experience. The salesman, Jeremy, did an excellent presentation and was great about getting a couple of issues with our roof resolved to make it better. The crew was on time, courteous, thoroughly cleaned up before they left everyday, very professional! The superintendent came to check on things daily and make sure everything that was supposed to be done was. The Owner, Nathan Borntreger, and his staff are awesome. We highly recommend using them, we couldn't be happier with the new roof.
