Shulman Roofing

Shulman Roofing repaired half my roof in August (the old half that was leaking) but I wanted to wait until well into the ensuing rainy season before writing a review. The roof has been through several storms and is water tight. I couldn't be more satisfied with the work. He has a good crew that showed up on time and worked late through the course of a 4 day period. Each day, the crew worked hard and cleaned up. When the job was done, I had to call Joe after a few days to get him to send me the bill!

Shulman roofing could teach their competitors a thing or two (or maybe they should simply just go on Yelp and do some reading). I needed a new roof and called multiple companies. I went with Shulman Roofing because appearances matter, namely: the company owner (!!) comes out to run an estimate and lay out the game plan. Other companies just send out some lowly intern.

Most importantly, Joe is patient with people who know next to nothing about roofs and strives to add aesthetic and functional value to the home. To him, it is not just a roof, but part of a larger unit. Joe and team definitely can see the forest and not just the trees. There are several teams involved in replacing a roof, each having a particular role, ranging from tearing old shingles, to laying new plywood, to laying new shingles.

Behind it all, our conductor, Joe Shulman. Everything ran smoothly, from getting the city permit to making sure no car tires are punctured from a rogue roofing nail. Bravo, my man!

Joe is many things that other contractors aren't- punctual, honest, and reliable. He came out to fix my leaky chimney and did so quickly, and at a price that was in line with other quotes I had. I was satisfied after that visit, but what made his service really stand out for me was when I sprung a similar leak only 6 months later.

Joe came out again to get a tarp up right away.

After the storm stopped he did a full evaluation of the issue, and went above and beyond to diagnose and rectify the issue. My family and I really appreciate the service, attention, and thoroughness that he and his team provided.

After the heavy winds blowing through Huntington Beach our roof lost some of its tiles. I called several contractors and received a call back from Joe Shulman. He came out and went up on the roof and gave me an estimate. Within two days his crew came out and did the repairs. Very professional and a great clean up job. I will be using him in a few years again when we need to put a new roof on the house. Great people to work with with.

I recently had solar panels installed and the solar company butchered my beautiful slate roof. I called a few roofing companies. Some companies called back claiming to have experience on slate roofs, but when they come out, it's evident they really don't know that much. Joe Shulman from Shulman roofing called me back the very same day. I explained my problem.

He was honest enough to explain that he's had limited experience with slate roofs and didn't feel he would be the best person for the job. What's even more impressive, is that he took it upon himself to check with his roofing supplier(American Slate) to find out which roofing companies deal with slate. Joe actually called me back 2 days later with a couple of numbers! Needless to say I was not only impressed, but pleasantly surprised!

With a big roof leak and a huge storm coming in a few days, I was in desperate need of a roofing repair company. I called four local companies and nobody returned my call except Joe Shulman. Before he called me he looked up my house on google street and satellite views and could see where on my tile roof the potential leak was. He asks me "is the leak above your front door" and I replied "YES".

He explained to me that fixing just that area would be a temporary fix and the only professional way to fix it would be to re-tar paper the whole section where the leak was. This made perfect sense to me as I would have done it the same way "if I knew how to do roofing". His guys came out and got the tar paper down before the rain started Thursday night. They returned after the storm on Saturday and completed the job. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and price.

Every thing started in fall 2008 when we got the home. Unfortunately every thing was original '64 even the roof. We got a couple of quotes and me and my wife we both liked and trusted Joe from the first time. In spring 2009 we had him and his crew replace the roofing on our home and they did a wonderful clean job as we expected. Joe is a great guy, straight forward and very easy to work with.

The job was beautifully done and we had the proof of a good work in the past days when we had the big rains. No leaks for sure. Thank you so much once again Joe and wish you all the best.
